This emulsion is light in texture and doesn't leave any residue sensation. It is easy to apply through the hair. The Faba TONIQ is a hero ingredient within this formulation, as it provides lasting styling application, while preventing hair knotting and tangling allowing for easier hair brush-ability after a long day.
First Step a – oil phase:
1) Heat and Melt waxes to 80-85oC, until these have molten.
2) Add butters and melt. Integrate/stir.
3) Drop temperature to 70oC. Add oil and ensure product molten (raise temperature slightly if/as required to do this).
4) Keep Phase A between 70oC +/- 2 oC and under gentle agitation.
First Step b – water phase:
Concurrently, while waxes are melting:
1) Combine ingredients in B1. Place into water bath to bring this to temperature of 65oC.
2) Weigh out propanediol and glycerine. Slowly integrate powders and disperse. This will assist in ensuring the powders are pre-dispersed and do not clump, which can happen if these are added directly into a water phase.
3) Under a paddle stirrer, slowly incorporate Phase B2 into Phase B1.
4) Stir this for a minimum of 30 minutes to ensure the Gosulin HOLD has integrated fully. If a high shear homogeniser is available this can expedite this process.
5) Bring this up to 65oC +/- 2 oC.
Second Step – Emulsification:
1) When Phase A and B are at temperature, transfer Phase B Water Phase to a high shear and turn on.
2) Add Phase C but do not add any further heat (take away from heat sources)
3) Slowly integrate Phase A (oil) phase into Phase B (water) phase.
4) Make sure there are no lumps forming.
5) High shear until fully emulsified.
6) Add fragrance while under high shear for 2 minutes
Final Step – cool down:
1) Transfer from high shear to paddle stirrer.
2) Stir down until temperature is under 40oC.
3) Set aside until system is at room temperature
4) Pour into appropriate receptacle.
